Parge Your Foundation ASAP

Many times when you purchase a house you do a walk around, or you may have your home inspected. Most of the times you will see many settling cracks on your foundation, regardless of whether it is a solid poured, or a block foundation. This is not necessarily a huge red flag as we live in Canada and there is a lot of ground expansion and contraction.

However step cracks or settling cracks that are exposed for a long period of time can cause water or moisture issues in your house as the water entering the blocks or concrete will cause a more rapid deterioration, especially over the brutal winters we have been getting.

The most common fix in conjunction with waterproofing is to parge your foundation and it is to be done sooner rather than later. Sometimes there is larger chunks missing in your foundation and this can be fixed by our masons by adding reinforcing mesh and proper adhesives applied to your whole foundation. By the time parging is done you will not be able to see any of the old imperfections, cracks and you will see a fresh, more modern and smooth look to your foundation.
